Answer the Ferryman
There is no buy button. You speak to the Ferryman, and he weighs you. Most souls he carries across for free; some he asks for his coin. You never know which until he decides. Stand before him and find out.
10,000 souls awaiting passage across the River Styx
You are not collecting. You are ferrying.

Every soul belongs to one of six ranks — from Wisp to Riverborn. To evolve one, you sacrifice another soul as fuel. The fuel always burns; the soul you're raising never does.
Success: your soul Ascends a rank. Failure: it stays exactly as it was — never lost. The fuel is spent either way; the river keeps its silence, and only rarely repays a debt.
Answer the Ferryman. He alone decides if your soul crosses free.
“In your life… did you do good?”
The Ferryman carries most souls for nothing. A few, he asks for his coin. Which one are you? Only he decides — the moment you approach.
Sacrifice one soul to evolve another. The fuel always burns — the main never does.
Evolving burns the sacrifice for good. Mythic souls are terminal — they cannot Cross. The Crossing opens as a later phase.
Each soul can attempt one Crossing per call.

| From rank | Fail chance | On failure |
|---|---|---|
| I → II | 3% | The main soul is preserved. The fuel is spent — though the river, on rare occasion, repays a debt. |
| II → III | 5% | |
| III → IV | 8% | |
| IV → V | 15% | |
| V → VI | 50% |
Mythic cap is hard-locked at 10. When the cap is reached, the V→VI Crossing reverts — the Legendary is preserved.
The fuel is always consumed. The soul you raise is never lost.
